Unofficial "official" Ubuntu on Intel Z3735F devices
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Depending on your device's bootloader there a couple of approaches of installing Ubuntu on the Intel Z3735F device. Let's consider a couple of examples.
Intel Compute Stick (using 64-bit bootloader)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Download the 64-bit Ubuntu 14.04 ISO from http://releases.ubuntu.com/trusty/ and write to a USB using 'Rufus' on Windows or 'dd' on Linux
Plug the USB into the device and power-up and use F2 to change the bootloader to 64-bit (i.e. Ubuntu 14.04)
Now use F10 to boot from the USB and install Ubuntu. You will now have a bootable Ubuntu but without bluetooth, wifi and sound
Reboot into Ubuntu and download 'linuxium-z3735f-patch.sh' from https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B99O3A0dDe67endsMWtBT3k5ZUE
Open a terminal window and make the file executable (chmod 700 linuxium-z3735f-patch.sh) and execute the shell script as root (sudo ./linuxium-z3735f-patch.sh)
This will build and install all the required drivers for Ubuntu
Once finished reboot your device to enable a fully functional Ubuntu
Meegopad T02 (using 32-bit bootloader)
----------------------------------------------------------------
Start by downloading the 64-bit Ubuntu 14.04 ISO from http://releases.ubuntu.com/trusty/ and write to a USB using 'Rufus' on Windows
Download 'bootia32.efi' from https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B99O3A0dDe67QWUtek9rdHptMjA (or compile yourself) and copy the file to the USB's 'EFI\BOOT' directory
Plug the USB into the device and power-up and use F7 to boot from the USB and install Ubuntu
Wait for the installation to finish but do not answer the 'Continue Testing' or 'Restart Now' option in the installation window and instead open a terminal window
Download 'linuxium-32bit-patch.sh' from https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B99O3A0dDe67R1BVS2ZPdWdKMk0
From the terminal window make the file executable (chmod 700 linuxium-32bit-patch.sh) and execute the shell script as root (sudo ./linuxium-32bit-patch.sh)
This will install a 32-bit version of the GRUB2 bootloader. Once installed close the terminal window and select the 'Restart Now' option from the installation window
Boot into Ubuntu and download 'linuxium-z3735f-patch.sh' from https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B99O3A0dDe67endsMWtBT3k5ZUE
Make the file executable (chmod 700 linuxium-z3735f-patch.sh) and execute the shell script as root (sudo ./linuxium-z3735f-patch.sh)
This will build and install all the required drivers for Ubuntu except that sound will not work
Reboot into Ubuntu and download 'linuxium-dsdt-patch.sh' from https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B99O3A0dDe67cWYyVzF5TkpmUlk
Make the file executable (chmod 700 linuxium-dsdt-patch.sh) and execute the shell script as root (sudo ./linuxium-dsdt-patch.sh)
Once finished reboot your device to enable a fully functional Ubuntu
Anyone wanting to try the unofficial "official" Ubuntu on Intel Z3735F devices can use my new Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (64-bit) LiveCD which can be booted from both a 32-bit bootloader and a 64-bit-bootloader and includes wifi so those "under the Dome" can easily install Ubuntu without the need for a USB ethernet adapter. Download from https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B99O3A0dDe67blR3NE0ycUQxUkk and write to a USB using either 'Rufus' in Windows or 'dd' in Linux.
This unofficial "official" LiveCD has the kernel pre-patched. Further patching is only required for 32-bit bootloader installations which need the 'linuxium-32bit-patch.sh' patch prior to finishing for booting and the 'linuxium-dsdt-patch.sh' patch once installed for sound.
Update
-----------
The official kernel patches are kernel version dependent. As the latest official 64-bit Ubuntu 14.04 ISO from http://releases.ubuntu.com/trusty/ now includes a 3.19 kernel you should download a 3.16 kernel based desktop amd64 ISO from http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/trusty/
Anyone wanting to try my latest unofficial "official" quasi Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS release should download from https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B99O3A0dDe67MWptY01KazZOMWM

3) eject boot and plug on meegopad t02
4) turn on meegoopad t02 and press F7
5) flash pendrive enable for boot (select this option)
6) linux mint open and i click on "CD icone" install linux
7) linux send a msg to unmount partition for instalation (click yes)
8) I go to particion screen and create:
- 28000 ext4 on / primary
- 2000 swuap logical
- 100 efi primary
9) continue and install linux
10) in the end, click to not restart
11) put a sdcard and copy "linuxium-32bit-patch.sh"

Hi Ian
Can you please re-upload or send me a link to download a patched Lubuntu image for STCK1A8LFC.
I got the stick from Amazon.ca for a good deal but was lacking of free space.
I need it to run Netflix and Prime Video from within Kodi ( and it does it very well with Lubuntu 14.4-:-17.2 but without sound) I tested more than 10 different images ( all not patched using a usb-to-3USB_Hub+1RJ45 Chinese adaptor)
All links provided on .au and .it sites end up with a error message in regards access your Google drive .
The patch linuxium-32bit-patch.sh I was able to find and download from github but is generating errors too.
Your support will be highly appreciated.
